Attach a guitar strap to an acoustic guitar

There is so many people wondering how to attach a guitar strap with two button holes, to acoustic guitar with usually have one strap button on bottom or no strap button at all.

Basically, if your strap comes with a shoelace, you can tie the shoelace on your guitar headstock, under the string. If not, you can buy the shoelace first, and tie it. This is a good video example on how to tie it:

This is the cheapest and simplest way to get your acoustic guitar strapped. But definitely not the best way, because the shoelace may causing some trace on your guitar headstock, if you use it in a long period of time.

Another way, you can add a button on the neck of your acoustic guitar. Here’s the quick video tutorial:

But to do that, you have to be really careful, because that might be broke your acoustic guitar. Or you can bring your guitar to luthier, and tell them where you want your button installed. Here is example on where the best place on your acoustic guitar to be installed with button.

Remember not to use screw longer than 1″ and never use a power screw driver. You may also want to tell the luthier to lubricate the screw with wax before inserting it, because it will prevent cracking or splitting the wood.
